[ perhaps not unexpectedly, it's some time before zelkov shows up at dove cabana after the trial... and even then, judging by his purposeful walk to his arts and crafts supply box, it seems it's probably just to retrieve some things and disappear again.

he does, at least, stop to give shuda a nod as a greeting. ]

[Honestly, Shuda is almost a bit surprised to see him at all, given his proclivity for simply disappearing with no real explanation. Not that Shuda blames him for that - the cabana is chaotic at the very best of times - but that's also why, during the trial, Shuda had found himself thinking thoughts he hadn't really wanted to entertain.]

Starting to get a little suspicious of you earlier when you said you spent the night in the garden and no one could back that up.

Not that I don't get it. This cabana is...

I can hardly fault anyone for thinking I was suspicious, given the theories that were under consideration at the time.

Funny you say that, because from where I'm standing, I'd say you're one of the few people here who has a solid head on their shoulders.

[ beel seems like a perfectly nice and reasonable person when he isn't in hangry morpeko mode, but yeah, he's seen more than enough of lobelia. ]

... which is why I want to ask you something. Did you hear Sonya mention something about his wishes running out earlier?

It may be related to something from his world-- that "wish sticker" his profile mentions. But after today, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't wondering about whether that's what our pair of friends meant when they mentioned you'd get perks you'd never seen before if you get away with murder.

My assumption was indeed that it referred to the item on his profile, though I never spoke with him to learn more of it.

We are fortunate in this instance that he is not the only one from his world here, so it is possible to ask them their own thoughts on the matter if it might mean something to them.

If it's not connected to that, though, we may have a much more serious problem on our hands. People can get pretty desperate when they think they have a chance of having their deepest wishes granted.

It should not do too much harm simply to ask, in any case.

Though I suspect that if the administrators were capable of something so broad as granting any wish one might desire that they would have no need for us in the first place.

They don't have to actually be capable of it. They just need to convince the others here that they are.

And given that we have the ability to contact them privately...

I can't say that I don't think that at least a few of our number might fall for something like that.

I would like to be able to trust that the others would follow the same logic, but it is true that some do have... rather questionable judgment in some matters.
